Rachael Maciasz

Rachael Maciasz, MD studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of Michigan which led her to appreciate greatly the connection between one’s belief system and health. She earned her MD degree at SUNY Downstate Medical College. During medical school she was awarded the Doris Duke Research Fellowship pursuant to which she researched communication in palliative care. Rachael was the student director for the Leadership and Education Program for Students in Integrative Medicine (LEAPS), a national program that introduces integrative health to medical students. She also co-created the Integrative Medicine Scholars Program, a medical student online learning group that meets monthly with integrative medicine physicians and practitioners for educational conferences. She then completed her internship in pediatrics at Brown University and her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Tulane University. She is a hospitalist at UCLA and an integrative medicine fellow at the UCLA Center for East West Medicine.
